Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
Home »
ICSI is part of the IVF process which involves injecting an individual sperm straight into the egg within a laboratory dish to achieve conception.
At our fertility laboratory, individual sperm are identified and isolated from a sample of semen. After choosing the healthiest looking sperm, they are introduced into an egg for fertilization. The remaining steps are similar to those in regular IVF procedures.
ICSI is recommended when:
Low Sperm Motility
Too few sperm to perform traditional IVF or IUI
Difficulty with sperm attaching to the egg.
Blockages in the male reproductive tract.
Fertilization through traditional IVF was unsuccessful.
